Are flyers and posters no longer getting families’ attention?  Is the constant change in parent’s contact information proving to be a barrier to connecting with families.  Have you considered using social media? In the session, Using Social Media to Engage Families, participants will take their level of virtual family engagement to the next level as we:
  • Examine developing and managing a social media plan
  • Identify your audience and connect your social media efforts to your program's mission
  • Choose the best sites and times to post based on your audience and objectives
  • Take into consideration such issues as technical requirements, promotion, and quality assurance
  • Create posts that are strengths-based, easy for readers to understand, and culturally and linguistically responsive including 15 positive social media messages you can send to parents to let them know you are thinking of and supporting them
  • Learn to respond thoughtfully to comments and questions from families on social media
